I came across a very interesting thought on advantage of using SaaS. Clickability, which has a SaaS offering on Web Content Management has got a comparison of Carbon emission between thier hosted software and on-premise software.
They have put some data on the actual carbon emission reduction by around 66% in their SaaS offering, when compared to on-premise deployment.
Its a very unique thinking and considering the current awareness around global warming, i think SaaS like Virtualization could save lot of energy and reduce carbon emissions. So Enterprises, Go Green by adopting SaaS.
